We had such a wonderful adventure visiting the Yellow Farmhouse farm animals. We sampled local honey, fed bunnies, goats and horses and got to bring home delicious granola! Thank you to Lori for such an amazing visit!
6/2 will be our final garden club meeting. We will be planting the seeds we started at our first meeting, painting and installing the rain barrels and of course watering everything! What an awesome day in the garden! We worked (carefully) in the blackberry patch, filled more beds, repotted seedlings and even planted! Hopefully next time we meet (5/19) we will see spinach, lettuce, kale and other things starting to grow!
Next week we have an exciting field trip planned to the Yellow Farmhouse where we will visit the animals (goats, chickens, bunnies, a horse...oh my!). We will be walking there after school and will return to the school for 4:00 pickup. Thank you everyone for a great meeting! It's wonderful to see the kids so engaged in the gardening tasks. Our second garden club meeting was a busy one! We filled the beds with compost and soil and released the mason bees. These super pollinators will help our garden thrive!
We hope to see everyone at our next meeting on 5/5. We will send out a reminder on Thursday. Thank you! Thank you to everyone that attended our FIRST Garden Club meeting!
We cleaned up the garden beds, planted lots of pumpkin, cucumber and tomato seeds AND found a wonderful spot for our mason bee house. Our next meeting will be on 4/21. We will hopefully have soil to fill the beds and can directly plant some seeds. As this our first year having this club any and all feedback is appreciated. Thank you! |
